CLO 6:
“Formulate and articulate a stance through and in your writing”
This was one of the first things we did in Writing for Engineers along with identifying an audience. Your stance is your position on a certain topic or issue, and the way this stance is conveyed, it should sound firm and grounded so the people you address will treat it seriously. There are professional ways to identify risks in your plans, however, it must be done with suave and you shouldn’t sound like you’re about to pee your pants in front of your audience.
“You must eat bananas because it is high in potassium!”
vs
“I think that maybe perhapsably theoretically quite possibly bananas might be good for you. Not sure though”.
One is more firm, respected, and addressed while the other one is tossed out.

The snippet from the memo above displays a clear stance addressing my audience. I made it clear that our current textbook policy is ineffective and a waste of money.
